Caught Up In The Influencer World

It’s been a while since actually posting something personal, and that just isn’t me. I can tell it, too. Writing is my outlet, and when I am not doing it, I can feel the unbalance and stress start to creep up in my life.

It has been a crazy few weeks in the Martin house. Blake and I have been contemplating some life changing decisions, Spring cleaning is in full swing, we now have chickens that are keeping the boys and I busy, and if that all wasn’t enough, we decided to start a garden…

I am telling you it is always a circus at the Martin house. But luckily, I am the ring leader so I get to keep it under control. I have honestly been slacking on my 2021 goals, though, of balance. Genuine and passion have come pretty easy. Balance on the other hand, not so much. My passion gets away from me so fast, and I end up becoming unbalanced and out of time. This has been a big deal for me on my Instagram platform.

I found myself so caught up in follower counts the other day. As I grow my account and gain new followers who share my same passions, I found myself spending WAY TOO MUCH time worrying about things that honestly do not even matter to me. I was just looking for content to post that would drive people to my page. That’s not me. That’s not being genuine.

So, this Sunday, I decided to take a day break and regroup. Focus on my family. Focus on the things that truly make me happy. It is so amazing at what just a 24 hour break can do for the soul. I was able to regroup and focus back on what makes me, well…me. If that means I lose followers, well okay. That will be fine, at least I know I will be sticking to my gut and supplying content that does help my family and is me being genuine with my new friends.

It is so easy to get lost in the perfect world of Instagram. The need to feel like we are liked and post things that make us feel “cool” can get us away from who we really are. So as a reset, get ready to see more on my page and blog as to who we truly are as a family. The good, the bad, the all in between. I am so excited to share more of our family moments, what we have going on, and the things that make our lives easier and fun.

Happy Monday, friends!

I hope it treats you well and that you enjoy a healthy size glass of wine to end the day.
